The three-day event will take place at Sunbird Capital and will be contested by players from South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi.

Speaking on the sidelines of the party on Saturday, General Alliance business development manager Tom M’mangeni said the feast was aimed at boosting the morale of the children and their guardians so that they do not feel forgotten in this festive season.

“We understand the trauma and stress that these children and their guardians leave under and as such we felt that a little celebration will lift their spirits,” he said.

M’mangeni added that the revelry was part of the company’s way of giving back to the community.

NewsGeneral Alliance Insurance Company Limited on Friday offered for the second time an insurance travel policy to the B’ella movie, which will see director of the film Tawonga Nkhonjera using it for his journey to Czech Republic later this month.

Nkhonjera is travelling to Czech Republic to arrange deals for the movie but also source funding for the film in a quest to have it screen in secondary schools across the country.

This is not the first time for General Insurance Company to offer the B’ella movie a travel insurance policy as it also did the same early this year when the movie was also screening at a festival in Europe.

The company’s Corporate Development Manager Hastings Kapesa said they decided to come up and offer a travel insurance policy once again as part of offering support to the movie.

Speaking during a press briefing organised in celebration of the achievement, the company’s business development manager, Tom M’mangeni, said the accolade was a mark of excellence in the service General Alliance provides.

Squash Malawi vice-president Gordon Benbow on Saturday said the open tournament will run for three days from April 4 in categories A and B.

There is also high possibility of a ladies section.

“We are trying to put more serious competitions ahead of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games,” said Benbow.
